Time:18:30, Friday, 2020.12.25

Venue: CM.1020 (College of Management)

Speaker: Assistant Professor Hsieh, Hsu-Sheng

Topic: Urbanity and Travel Demand Management

Urbanity reflects the values of urban life, and therefore how a city should be developed (or not be developed) is always of diversity and controversy. We initially explore how the concepts of urbanity have been formed based on people’s varying demands for urban life in history and review the modern regulatory tools for urbanity. Furthermore, transportation as a derived demand from urban activities has in turn affected urban activities and urbanity and threatened environmental sustainability. Hence, we also explored how to apply structural and psychological strategies to manage urban travel demand.
